The rights of child and women require special attention because they make up more of the world’s poor and face structural barriers to rise out of poverty. A girl child continues to receive less food, less protection, less education opportunity and medical treatment than a boy child and may not receive schooling. Globally, for too many children face problems depriving of their rights and drop down from school and education. Although development and humanitarian responses must address the needs of all people, focusing on child rights and education addresses critical problems faced by the world’s poorest individuals.
